Since the initial launch of this site in September of 1999, NerdPerfect has received more attention than I really expected. The following is a list of the awards and features that relate to this site or its writers.
1. Webscobe did an interview with me in March of 2000, then I promptly forgot all about it. I was doing a vanity search the other day, and found that some of it had actually been used (the interviewer didn't let me know as promised). Believe it or not, mine was the "positive" perspective of running a weblog. I was probably drunk.
2. Graduatingengineer.com did an interview with me in December 1999. This was the first interview I'd ever done, so I naturally come off like a chimp with a keyboard. Ah well, at least he didn't transcribe all the "uhs" and other muttering..
3. Part of the Six-Pack to Go list in October 1999. There's no 'back issues' link at this site, so I can't link to the actual list including NerdPerfect... just take my word for it.
4. Featured on NetTalk (a local TV show) in December 1999 (no link available). A buddy of mine who was a guest co-host of the show called me up three hours before the broadcast asking me (read: telling me) if I minded NerdPerfect being shown and discussed. What could I do?
5. Reviewed by Techsightings in late September 1999. It's a mildly scathing review, but we had only existed for about three weeks, so nothing was really running smoothly yet. The good stuff was a nice boost after dumping a ton of time into building the site, and really helped me stay motivated during the lean times of where 30 pageviews was a good day. I'll frame this someday. Either that, or I'll frame the reviewer. Whoops! Ignore that.
6. Although not really a feature, I found that ZDNet.co.uk had latched onto the World's Slowest Windows NT Server contest we ran back in October of 1999. It's pretty neat to see this site on ZD... wait, I hate ZDnet.
